The "Aspalathos Villas" are built on

Located 30 kilometers east of Chania is the little picturesque village of "Vrisses", located in a valley full of greenery and running water. the villas Aspalathos is the only freshwater lake in Crete. This is the ideal destination for an afternoon stroll as it is set in a perfectly relaxed setting. The lake gets its power from the waters that descend from the mountains which are "trapped" from an underground flow to the sea. The environment of the lake is protected by "NATURA 2000". In this natural lake you can find ducks, eels, water snakes and a rare turtle species. |
Georgioupolis

Located 37 km from Chania towards Rethymnon is the tourist resort of Georgioupolis. The village of Georgioupolis is in a green area at the mouth of the river Almyros which forms a small port that accommodates small boats and fishing boats. Georgioupolis is a tourist attraction because of the wide and clean beach while having plenty of entertainment and nightlife.

From Vrissess you are able to reach the White Mountains in the province of Sfakia. Here you can find the town of Sfakia, which is the port and capital of the province. This is a cluster of villages with high mountains, deep gorges and canyons which lead the sea and the Libyan Sea is at the end of the journey. Sfakia provides many opportunities for beach lovers as well as for those who love mountain sport as there are many trails for hiking and climbing peaks.

Chania

Chania, the capital of the prefecture of Chania, located at the western end of Crete and is the second largest city after Heraklion. It is one of the oldest cities in Crete, maintaining the pure traditional architecture and history which is prevalentin the cities walls and buildings. It has the reputation of the most picturesque town of the Mediterranean due to its Venetian harbour with its lighthouse and the old town.

There is a regular bus to the city of Chania and Rethymno.
